1. Nothing Is Sacred
cursed be the day wherein i was born"
(Jeremiah 20:14)
let the day perish wherein i was born"
(Job 3:3)
let that day be darkness"
(Job 3:4)
let it not be joined
unto the days of the year"
(Job 3:6)
why died i not from the womb ?"
(Job 3:11)
my mother might have been my grave"
(Jeremiah 20:17)
wherefore is light
given to him that is in misery, [...]
which long for death but it cometh not"
(Job 3:20-21)
nothing is sacred
2. Wailing
i sink in deep mire,
where there is no standing :
i am come into deep waters,
where the floods overflow me.
i am weary of my crying :
my throat is dried :
mine eyes fail
while i wait for my God
(Psalm 69:2-3)
save me
(Psalm 69:1)
all joy is darkened,
the mirth of the land is gone
(Isaiah 24:11)
and in those days
shall men seek death,
and shall not find it ;
and shall desire to die,
and death shall flee from them
(Revelation 9:6)
save me, O God"
(Psalm 69:1)
3. At Dusk
are not my days few ?
cease then, and let me alone,
that i may take comfort a little,
before i go whence i shall not return
(Job 10:20-21)
we grope for the wall like the blind,
and we grope as if we had no eyes :
we stumble at noonday as in the night ;
we are in desolate places as dead men
(Isaiah 59:10)
i should have been
as though i had not been ;
i should have been
carried from the womb to the grave
(Job 10:19)
4. When All Hope Is Gone
mine eye is dim by reason of sorrow,
and all my members are as a shadow
(Job 17:7)
my days are past,
my purposes are broken off,
even the thoughts of my heart
(Job 17:11)
and where is now my hope ?
as for my hope, who shall see it ?
(Job 17:15)
they change the night into day :
the light is short because of darkness.
if i wait, the grave is mine house :
i have made my bed in the darkness
(Job 17:12-13)
i have said to corruption,
Thou art my father
to the worm,
Thou art my mother, and my sister
(Job 17:14)
5. Dust To Dust
the day of death is better than
the day of one's birth
(Ecclesiastes 7:1)
better is the end of a thing than
the beginning thereof
(Ecclesiastes 7:8)
therefore i went about
to cause my heart to despair
of all the labor
which i took under the sun
(Ecclesiastes 2:20)
for the grave cannot praise thee,
death cannot celebrate thee :
they that go down into the pit
cannot hope for thy truth
(Isaiah 38:18)
all are of the dust,
and all turn to dust again
(Ecclesiastes 3:20)
...to dust to dust to dust to dust...
6. For My Days Are Vanity
why is light given to a man
whose way is hid ?
(Job 3:23)
O remember that my life is wind
(Job 7:7)
i would not live always : let me alone ;
for my days are vanity
(Job 7:16)
my breath is corrupt,
my days are extinct,
the graves are ready for me
(Job 17:1)
why is light given to a man
whose way is hid ?
(Job 3:23)
wherefore came i forth out of the womb
to see labor and sorrow, that my days
should be consumed with shame ?
(Jeremiah 20:18)
for now shall i sleep in the dust ;
and thou shalt seek me in the morning,
but i shall not be
(Job 7:21)
7. Wisdom
wherefore i praised the dead
which are already dead,
more than the living
which are yet alive.
yea, better is he than both they,
which hath not yet been,
who hath not seen the evil work
that is done under the sun
(Ecclesiastes 4:2-3)
for in much wisdom is much grief :
and he that increaseth knowledge
increaseth sorrow
(Ecclesiastes 1:18)
8. I Am A Stranger In The Earth
turn thee into me,
and have mercy upon me ;
for i am desolate and afflicted.
the troubles of my heart are enlarged :
O bring thou me out of my distresses.
look upon mine affliction and my pain ;
and forgive all my sins
(Psalm 25:16-18)
i am gone
like the shadow
when it declineth
(Psalm 109:23)
i am a stranger in the earth
(Psalm 119:19)
9. Deliverance
i'm in a dark room
just can't see
waiting for you
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here
let me go out of here...
