1. Time Of Trouble

(инструментал)

2. The Martyr

somewhere in the middle east:
late at night when i'm lying in my bed,
i hear his words, they echo in my head.
who we are, what we should do,
what we'll receive, when the work is through.
i've been touched by the hand of fate.
the winds of change fuel the flames of hate.
sometimes i wonder why we're the only ones,
who see the real solution and knows what must be done.

i'm a martyr and i'll die for the cause
i live by our own set of laws

you say you're blessed, he's smiling down on you.
you'll always win. no matter what we do.
you're so naive, you've never seen a war,
devastate your country, desecrate your shore.
cities burned down, bodies lying in the street.
children dying, no food left to eat.
soon you will know, a little of our pain,
we've nothing to lose and everything to gain.

i'm a martyr and i'll die for the cause
i live by our own set of laws
the groundwork has been laid
the final hand is played

you say that we're not right.
you say it's an unholy fight.
well i say there's no right or wrong.
there's only you the weak – and us the strong!

somewhere in middle america:
the mall is crowded, people everywhere.
tending to their business, of me they're unaware.
just an old man sitting down for a rest,
with 40 sticks of dynamite strapped to his chest.
i hear his voice again calling out to me –
"when it is over is when you'll be free!"
so with a smile and a prayer to my lord,
i push the button and go to my reward

3. Genetic Genocide

you feel so safe, sealed in your room.
among the poisons, you think you are immune.
a broken vial, a mislaid hand.
that's all it took to start the end of man.

genetic genocide – who will live – who will die

a new breed of man, was that your goal?
or was it something to cure the common cold.
playing with fire you got your fingers burned.
oh man in white – tell us – what have you learned?

genetic genocide – who will live – who will die

when did you finally break down?
when you saw there was no cure to be found?
what price the crown of a king on his throne,
if he is here in the world all alone.

now look around you, see what you've done.
a parody of man is what we have become.
you are the father of this newborn race.
come to us now – join us – to our cold embrace.

genetic genocide – who will live – who will die

4. Second Chance

all your life you searched for truth.
you never found a clue.
is there life after death, after you take your last breath?
the time for you has come, death is near.
your questions will be answered, do not fear.

you wake up on the riverbank among the millions of humanity.
dazed and disoriented, you wander off into the human sea.
a thousand different languages, people from every time and place.
a grail attached upon your arm and wonder on your face.

second chance – second chance

as the years go by the people settle down they think their work is through.
but you will never rest until the secret of the planet is revealed to you.
then one night a stranger comes and with his touch renders you complete.
he said, "don't be afraid, i am here to help you fend the things you seek."

second chance – second chance

"safe in their tower, wielding their power, the 'gods' play games with your fate.
but i am a renegade, i don't believe in what they say.
stop them before it's too late. follow the river,
go and deliver, your fate lies in your hands!"

you gather up some men who fight for truth and believe in what you say.
the journey will be long and hard, many men will die along the way.
there is only one thing on your mind, only one thing to fulfill.
to storm the tower in the mist and crush the 'gods' of the riverworld.

5. (I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone

you're trying to make your mark on society,
by using all the tricks you used on me.
you're reading all those high fashion magazines,
the clothes you're wearing, girl, are causing public scenes. i said –

i'm not your stepping stone – i'm not your stepping stone

when i first met you girl, you didn't have no shoes,
but now you're running around like you're front page news.
well, baby, you've been awful careful about the friends you choose,
but you won't find my name in your book of who's who's. i said –

i'm not your stepping stone – i'm not your stepping stone

now you say that you are free, you have n0 use at all for me.
well i have got some news for you – you won't be shit when i get through.

6. Killing Winds

you sacrificed your children to the gods you made.
the ones of steel, poison and plastic, you threw their lives away.
what price the abuse of nature – a piece of your own soul.
you say "we'll change" but it's too late, you can't give back what you have stole.

april. 22, 1915 ypres, france:
looking out on no-mans land.
it's time for decision, time for command.
no sign of fear is there on your face.
everything is ready, everything's in place.
you give the order, it's time to begin.
6,000 canisters are opened to thewind.
clouds of greenish smoke mingle with their screams.
you have succeeded beyond your wildest dreams –
lungs exploding, systems overloading,
drowning in their fluids, they cry out for air –
a higher form of killing is what you have achieved.
an easy way to break the nations, bring them to their knees.

now the time is here – your future's fading fast
you have lots to fear – you have not learned from the past
now the time has come – soon you will pay for your sins
there's nowhere to run – there's no escape from the killing winds

1918 –1939 salisbury, england:
porton down, symbol of death.
men and animals take their last breath.
vivisection, inflicting pain.
just for the knowledge you think you can gain.
gassing your men and even yourself, no thought is given to anybodies health.
so mr. foulkes, won't you tell us why, why you keep searching for new ways to die? –
pollute the water, maim and slaughter, doesn't life mean anything to you? –
you call it progress, i call it madness! there's no excuse for what you try to do

tomorrow:
you're on the edge of an all out war.
on a scale never seen before.
and your enemy's an enemy within, up against it there's no way you can win.
you held their lives there in your hands, and playing god was part of the plan.
but now your scared, you lost all control.
it slipped through the cracks, it's taken a hold –
virus mutating, procreating, growing stronger inside of you –
there are no answers, only questions.
you pulled the trigger – the game is through.

7. The Sentence Of Death

overdose / the burial
oh god help me! i can't take it anymore!!
i'm so scared!!
just let me die!!

the rain fell down with a chilling sound into the open grave.
the coffin lowers, for him it's over, for them it's just another day.
a son he's lost, at such a cost, a victim of the times.
now he's alone, there's no one home, he should have read between the lines.

the awakening:
he was one of the meek, he always turned his cheek, he lived by the golden rule.
but now that's changed, his life's rearranged, he's got a new goal to pursue.
he's a man obsessed, he will never rest, 'till he finds who he's looking for.
a dealer of dreams but of the kind obscene, they offer death – and nothing more.

eye for an eye – tooth for a tooth.
soon you will die, destroyer of youth.
life for a life – it's only fair.
so go ahead and scream, no one will hear – no one will care!

confrontation:
it's been 2 long years and so many tears, but the end has finally come.
facing his man gun ready in hand, it's time to vindicate his son.
he pushes in and the dealer only grins but his eyes give away his fear.
the man says with a sigh, it should be no surprise, but let me tell you why i'm here.

you live in the streets, so you know the rules.
you took your chances and now you lose.
i'm your judge and jury, executioner too.
for what you did to my son,
i pass sentence on you – and the sentence is death!

retribution:
chained to a chair, water everywhere, wrapped in wire head to toe.
cables from the wall are connected to it all, he knows his death will be slow.
throwing the switch, the body starts to twitch, as the smell of burning flesh fills the air.
he walks away, no reason to stay, there's a new world waiting out there.

8. Agents Of The Dark (M.I.B.)

it all started with a light in the sky.
i was driving home from work when my engine died.
well i'm no coward – i'd rather fight than run.
but when i looked from my window that night, i nearly came undone.

so big it filled the sky, as it rose from the sand.
so scared i was gonna die, i left my car and i ran.
it turned without a sound, as it came for me.
no control, i fell to the ground and then i ceased to be.

agents of the dark – m.i.b.
agents of the dark – let me be
agents of the dark – can't you see that i will never talk?

i awoke to the dawn.
what was it i had seen?
so safe – nothing's wrong.
had it been ]ust a dream?
back home i contemplate.
on the night before.
loud knocks – i hesitate,
and then i go to the door.

opened the door to the night and there he was standing in the light.
dressed in black and eyes aflame, in a threatening voice he spoke my name and said,
"i'm from the government.
i'd like to have a word with you.
we know all about last night.
now here's what you will do.
never tell anyone about my being here – or the light.
we don't want to hurt you friend,
so keep the lid on tight – we'll be watching you!!!"

three months have passed, still they badger me.
how long will it last, when will i be free?
men in black everywhere, a nightmare come true.
can't talk – i don't dare, what the hell am i to do!

9. Mr.Death

tenement buildings, decay is in the air.
a tangible aura of fear.
boarded windows, rats in the walls, soon all will be cleared.
an old lady waits, among darkened walls,
scared of the things that in the shadows crawl.
she knows he's come, so many times before,
but she won't answer when he knocks at her door.

mr. death – no more pain
mr. death – no more blame
mr. death – no more shame, just reach out and take his hand
mr. death – do not run
mr. death – it is done
mr. death – he's the one who'll take you to your promised land

sounds of a scuffle, shots ring the air, a body falls to the ground.
blood flows freely as he cries in the night, for help that will never be found.
all confused, why is he here, the pain it grows and so does his fear.
tired of the fight but he can't let it go. he still resists when death lands the final blow.

what is it about me that makes men fear?
why do they tremble whenever i draw near?
is it the final kiss they know that i must bring or is it the way men die,
the pain and the suffering – but you have brought it on yourselves!! –

why do you run when it's your turn to go, it should be easy for you.
all those people you laid in their graves, you know just what to do.
mourn their loss, dry their tears, pillar of strength, allaying their fears.
now it's time, take his hand, don't be scared, it's part of the masters plan.
