Since the dawn of civilization
The so-called men of god
Have been lost in their obscurities
Their words would lead to sorrow
Commanding the weak to follow
A design for tyrants to control and enslave

We subdue not the voice inside us
We only bow down on our prey

Fire rains down from the heavens
Pouring down on those too weak to learn
On the ruins of the dead religion
Standing tall as the enslaving doctrines burn

To lead the flock astray
Each cult began their game
They created the face of evil and gave and squeeze it
Until it breaks in shards
And under the remains the truth will survive

We are the child who questions sincerely
And in our eyes a mirror framed

Divine, unscarred and electrified...
Such words of power echo through your mind
Never stop and never break
There's always time to rest in your grave

No time to play around
Move fast or the world will bring you down
Throughout your trials you'll sweat and bleed
But certainly that's now life's meant to be

Conqueror – your finest hour's still yet to come

Seeker – patience paves the winding road ahead
Somewhere your future is smiling – smiling

Pay no heed to the mindless herd
Their babble is both worthless and absurd
Never will they understand
Your actions, reasons or your master plan

Set your mind on the task at hand
Fuel your wrath with the misery you've had
Throughout your trials you'll sweat and bleed
But certainly that's now life's meant to be

We come with a calmness that only years
Spent out there can give you
We stand out – we wear in with style
From the ranks of the gifted, a signle line of excellence – lifted
It's time to purge your ears with flame

Wall of sound – cutting your head
We trust you've learned your lesson
From the depths – tearing the ground

Until the end – this regiment of rumble marches on

It's a sign of the times
That dead are the minds of men

Observe this shell this wonrous creation
Why is it forced to ache and to bleed?
Wise men, of old, promised to end of suffering
But their legacy planted the seeds of war

It struck me down then forced me to rise

Have the tears now diminished your light
Star eyes, something wrong with your soul
Have the years started taking their toll

Can you still find comfort in the joy and the laughter of past nights
Do they quicken you still in the morning after when the magic wears off

Maybe the winter for you was too cold

The moment you had now is gone

7. After The Storm

By morning it had blown over
We ventured out to see what remained
It had been creeping closer and closer
But so far we'd dodged it time and time again

I used to live such a simple life, an easy lie
I was afraid to own up to the truth
We're not like you we will never be content
With what we're given
We will pursue this to the end
Left no trail of crumbs behind

The friends that I've had
Have since become strangers
After the storm it was perfectly clear
The ones that I love warned me of dangers
But by now there's no palce for fear

Stronger than ten tied with blood put together
Cooler than shades on a statue of ice
More prestigious than words bound in leather
Always untouched by the ignorant lies

I've finally seen
Myself
Through the eyes of others

We chase our dreams, we sacrifice
We know that's what makes us better
Though more of the means less of you
I have no doubt this is something
That I have to do

Faster than bending the end to beginning
Sharper than wit that is parched beyond dry
More courageous than honest in sinning
Always untouched by the ignorant lies

I've seen myself through the eues of the others
I can accept that they won't understand

Words spoken without intent
Songs borrowed and used and spent
I need myself to remember
What I tend to forget
In realms hidden in the mind
Where power and truth reside
The beast sleeps waiting to
Hear it's burden call

Grant me illumination
I see it clearly now
This blessed revelation
By my own will
Drawn from within
The veil is taken from my eyes
The me inside me tearing through
Loud and demanding in it's cries

In a hole with no light or walls
Endless rows of locked up doors
A secret is hidden
Concealed from us all
And so it remains
To those who are not willing
To challenge the rules
Reap what you sow

10. The Wanderer's Lamentation

I walk on the burning sands
I walk in the freezing cold
I walk from the verdant woods
To desolate rocks and stone
Air it speaks to me
Ground keeps me company
Carrying me on my journey

They call me the wanderer
I seek the truth
I read between the lies

To seek but never find
